POWER ACTIVITY SPECTRUM
As forward integration of Coal business, Gupta Group has ventured into Power Generation and is in the process of establishing a chain of IPPs utilizing both conventional & non-conventional energy sources.
THERMAL POWER GENERATION
Gupta Group through Gupta Energy Private Limited, has pioneered one-of-its-kind Power Project of 660 MW in two phases using washery rejects and raw coal as fuel. The Phase-I consists 120 MW (2 x 60 MW) & Phase-II consists of 540 MW (2 x 270 MW),at Tal. Ghugus, Dist. Chandrapur, (M.S)
The first phase of 2 x 60 MW Thermal Power Plant is under execution in an area of 400 acres at Vill. Usegaon, Tah. Ghugus, Dist. Chandrapur having necessary clearances from Ministry of Environment & Forest, Ministry of Power & Industries, Water Irrigation Dept. & all other local bodies. The second phase of two units of 2 x 270 MW is also envisaged by the Company in the vicinity of Plant erected under Phase I. The Company has all the financial and administrative sanctions for the success of the project in place. The project is being executed by the company on its own following individual package route under the able guidance of its technical team and the project consultants – HIQ Power Associates Pvt.Ltd.,Chennai.
BIOMASS POWER GENERATION
Gupta Group through its associate company - Maharashtra Vidyut Nigam Limited, with a view to generate renewable power is setting up a 1 x 10 MW Bio Mass based Power Project at Tal. Deoli, Dist. Wardha of Maharashtra state, using 75% biomass (cotton stalk) & 25% raw coal as fuel.
MIDC has allotted 50 acres of land for setting up this Biomass Power Plant at Vill. Deoli, Dist. Wardha, Maharshtra state.
The Company has all the financial and statutory sanctions for the successful implementation of the project. The Project is proposed to be executed by the company on Turnkey Basis by awarding EPC Contract.
WINDPOWER GENERATION
Harnessing Wind Power is relatively a new concept in India. Gupta Group has made a beginning by successfully installing five Wind Mills in the state of Maharashtra , Tamilnadu & Rajasthan having total capacity of 11.85 MW, of renewable power generation fed to the State Grid.
